Date: 9 – 10 September 2014
The successful substitution of natural gas for coal and coke in various metal production processes would allow for cleaner, less energy-intensive processes at lower temperatures resulting in higher quality products. However, many technological and engineering challenges remain. There are growing national research activities on the metallurgical application of natural gas in Norway and other countries.
In order to tie the international community together, a workshop on the production of metals using natural gas aimed at academia and industry will be held in Trondheim on the 9th and 10th of September 2014.
The aim of the workshop is to create a forum for the discussion of the latest ideas, processes and results, as well as to correlate academic research with the challenges of industry.
